Let’s Talk
Resolving 3rd Sector Workplace Conflict
Mediation Hertfordshire has been awarded
a Big Lottery ‘Awards for All’ grant
for a pilot project in 2012 called
Let’s Talk.
Let’s Talk is designed to help Hertfordshire based voluntary and neighbourhood organisations (with a turnover between £40,000 and £500,000 and not part of a national charity) look at ways to recognise and alleviate work based conflict.
We know that staff and volunteers working in the 3rd sector are often working under intense pressure, due to budgetary restraints and/or because of the nature of the sector they work in. These pressures, together with other tensions can lead to conflict in the workplace, which in extreme cases can result in absenteeism, a deterioration of services or even the collapse of essential community projects.
Working with the Hertfordshire Network of CVS’s, we will be offering a series of free Hertfordshire wide workshops between April and July 2012. They will explore why conflict can arise and what can be done to alleviate the situation to the benefit of the service providers and subsequently to their target audiences. As part of this project, we are pleased to be able to offer a limited number of free mediations. These will be made available to Hertfordshire 3rd sector organisations who have specific staffing issues that could benefit from mediation by professionally trained workplace mediators.
